Where curb is to be removed and replaced adjacent to pavement to remain, any pavement <br />disturbed during the removal of the curb shall be replaced with a 10” asphalt base with 1 1/2" of <br />HMA surface. The cost of the pavement removal, concrete and asphalt re placement will not be <br />paid for separately, but shall be included in the cost of the removal of the curb. <br />5. Removal limits shall be marked by the Owner prior to giving the Contractor authorization for <br />removal. The City will not pay for any removal outside of the marked limits unless authorized by <br />the Owner. <br />6. Measurement and Payment <br /> <br />a. Payment for all costs of concrete curb and curb and gutter removal, including the cost of all <br />materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, operations, and all other incidentals, shall <br />be paid for on a linear foot basis under the pay item: <br /> <br />CURB, CONCRETE, REMOVE……………..……………………………………………....LFT <br />XIV. MILLING, ASPHALT <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2022, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 306 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The depth of asphalt pavement milling shall be according to the contract documents or as directed <br />by the Engineer. <br /> <br />2. All areas of asphalt pavement milling shall be established by the Engineer and the Contractor <br />prior to the commencement of work. <br /> <br />3. The Contractor shall be responsible for determining and performing depth of variable depth <br />pavement milling where depth of milling is governed by thickness of concrete pavement to be <br />placed over milled areas. The Contractor shall provide milling depth in order to c onstruct the <br />planned thickness of concrete pavement as a minimum. No additional payment will be made for <br />concrete pavement thickness above planned thickness as a result of the depth of milling by the <br />Contractor <br /> <br />4. Measurement and Payment <br /> <br />a. Payment for all costs associated with asphalt pavement milling, including the cost of all <br />materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, operations, and all other incidentals, shall be <br />paid for on a square yard basis under the pay item: <br /> <br />SURFACE MILLING, ASPHALT, 1.5 IN………..…………………………………….SYS <br />XV. EXISTING BACKFLOW PREVENTER, REMOVE AND ADJUST <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: INDOT 2022 Standard Specifications Section 402, 406 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The Contractor shall remove the existing backflow preventer and adjust the existing plumbing to <br />accept the new 1” water supply line. Backflow preventer to be returned to the City. <br />2. The Contractor shall install 1”x3/4” water line reducer where new water line connects to existing ¾” <br />copper piping prior to fill line valves. <br />3. All fill line valves (2) shall remain functional after all work is completed. <br />4. Contractor shall install new inline 1” brass ball valve/drain valve prior to fill line valves and install <br />within valve box, flush with adjunct grades. <br />5. Contractor shall provide submittals of all new fittings, valve boxes and related equipment to Owner <br />for approval.
