Opening of Court Repair Quotes-Mike Dyszkiewicz <br /> Mr. Dyszkiewicz reported that quotes were opened last month,but the amounts were <br /> above budget. He narrowed the scope of the projects and solicited new quotes. <br /> The quotes were opened and read as follows: <br /> a. Arnt Asphalt- $39,745 <br /> b. Rieth-Riley- $44,650 <br /> Mr. Dyszkiewicz requested that the project be awarded Arnt Asphalt. <br /> Ms. Beachkofsky said that both claimed a local preference exemption,but Arm was based in <br /> Michigan, even though from an adjacent county, and she was not sure if that would qualify <br /> them for the preference. She said she would check with Attorney Greene. <br /> V1. Approval of Minutes <br /> Ms. Hill made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on May <br /> 30, 2012 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Mullins and approved. <br /> VII. Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for May 2012 totaling <br /> $1,023,547.16. <br /> It was seconded by Ms. Hill. There being no further discussion,the motion was passed. <br /> VIII. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St. Clair reported that the Park Police had completed their weapons <br /> qualification last week. <br /> 2. Estimates are being prepared for the Ice Rink deck replacement. It is hoped to have this <br /> in place by the regular opening date of Thanksgiving weekend. <br /> 2. A meeting with the Zoo Society was held this morning concerning the public/private <br /> partnership they are proposing. Discussions are still ongoing. <br /> 3. He distributed a report from the Department of Natural Resources concerning the ash <br /> tree problem in Indiana and South Bend. <br /> Mr. Goodrich asked about information he had requested from the Engineering <br /> Department at the last meeting. <br /> 4. The Blues Fest will be held next Saturday. Marketing has been ongoing. He felt things <br /> are going well. Ticket sales have increased in the last week. <br /> IX. Comments by the South Bend Silver Hawks <br /> 1. Mr. Robbie Lightfoot, Ticket Manager,reported that the attendance is 90%higher <br /> than at this time last year. Feedback has been positive to the changes made to the <br /> stadium. The splash pad is very popular. Bleachers are being removed and individual <br /> seating is being installed. <br /> Director St. Clair asked for an attendance report from the team and thanked them for their <br /> - - 2 - - <br />
