Signs and Symptoms of Abuse: <br />— Reddened eyes due to <br />increased blood pressure <br />— Lackadaisical attitude <br />— Difficulty comprehending <br />complex ideas <br />Slowed speech <br />— Distinctive odor on clothing <br />— Chronic sore throat <br />— Chronic fatigue and lack of <br />motivation <br />— Irritating cough <br />— Lack of body coordination <br />Workplace Issues <br />Health Effects: <br />Emphysema -like symptoms <br />— Lung Cancer <br />Cell abnormalities <br />— Respiratory tract and sinus <br />infections <br />Lowered immune system <br />response <br />— Impotency and infertility; <br />changes to reproductive <br />system <br />Loss of interests and <br />motivation <br />This drug alters a users sense of time and reduces the ability to perform tasks requiring <br />concentration; and thus reduces significantly productivity in the workplace. <br />FACT., One or two joints will stay in the user's system for two or three days. If <br />marijuana use occurs three or four times a week, the metabolite stays in the <br />system for about two weeks. Daily use of marijuana will stay in the system <br />anywhere from three to six weeks. <br />Cocaine <br />Cocaine is a powerful stimulant that is very addicting leading to physical and <br />psychological dependence. It is commonly sniffed, injected, and or snorted in a powder <br />form. <br />Free -base cocaine is also known as "crack" or "rock" and is smoked. Cocaine creates an <br />initial surge of excitement followed by a sense of increased energy, alertness, and <br />inflated sense of self-esteem. Chronic nasal problems, recurrent sinusitis, sleep, and <br />anxiety disorders are just a few of the physical, behavioral, speech, and performance <br />indications of cocaine use. <br />Signs and Symptoms of Abuse: <br />— Dilated pupils <br />— Increased pulse rate <br />— Elevated blood pressure <br />Insomnia <br />— Loss of appetite <br />— Tactile hallucinations <br />— Paranoia <br />— Seizures <br />3 <br />— Anxiety and agitation <br />— Periods of increased activity <br />followed by fatigue and <br />depression <br />— Wide mood swings <br />— Difficulty concentrating <br />
