CITY OF SOUTH BEND I HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />Dori Walterhouse and Caleb Stinson, 655 River Ave South Bend, IN 46601. <br />The public was represented by: <br />N/A <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by David Wyncott, seconded by Sarah Andrews, and unanimously carried <br />by vote, the Historic Preservation Commission APPROVES Certificate of <br />Appropriateness Application #2021-0905. <br />Vote: 8-0. Eight in Favor, none opposed. <br />COA#2021-0905 is approved. <br />vi. 2021-0907 1215 Riverside Drive Riverside Drive LHD, Ordinance #7469-85 <br />(Audio Position: 1:05:15) <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends denial. Restoration of the windows is <br />feasible and encouraged. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />Brian Kane, 1215 Riverside Dr. South Bend, IN 46601. <br />The public was represented by: <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Elizabeth Hertel, seconded by Eric Stalheim, and carried by vote, the <br />Historic Preservation Commission DENIES Certificate of Appropriateness Application <br />#2021-0907. <br />Commission President Gelfman clarified that, in motions for denial, Commissioners <br />are required to state their reasons for denial. Roll was called. <br />Commissioner Hertel (AYE): I vote to deny due to it not conforming with the <br />standards and guidelines and it using vinyl however I would also like to add if the <br />applicant would like to reapply for storm windows that he not be charged. <br />Commissioner Wyncott (AYE): Standards and guidelines. <br />Commissioner Deegan (NAY): <br />Commissioner Andrews (AYE): Same. <br />Page 14 <br />
