TEAM PROJECT APPROACH RELEVANT EXPERIENCE 9HWC ENGINEERING | CITY OF SOUTH BEND: INSPECTION OF OLIVE STREET PHASE 2 FIRM OVERVIEW <br />RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: HWC <br />HWC is responsible for full time inspection of the reconstruction of Olive Street in <br />South Bend, IN. <br />The project includes the removal of the existing roadway and reconstructing it with <br />QC/QA concrete due to the extensive truck traffic. This project includes excavation <br />for roadways, subgrade treatment, QC/QA PCCP paving, QC/QA asphalt paving, <br />storm sewer, sanitary sewer reconnections, water main service reconnections, lighting, <br />striping and signage. This project also includes tie-in approaches to State Road 23. <br />This LPA project is being funded by the City of South Bend and INDOT. Project cost is <br />anticipated to be $3.5 million. <br />The project is expected to be substantially complete in October of 2021. <br />Chris Holth is managing this project for HWC. <br />HWC was responsible for full time construction inspection of a streetscape along <br />Western Avenue in South Bend. Scope included earthwork, asphalt and concrete <br />pavement, sidewalks, permeable pavers, storm sewer separation, water main, <br />landscaping and lighting. <br />A new 12” water main was installed with new service lines to businesses in this area. <br />A new storm sewer was installed to separate it from the existing combined sanitary <br />sewer. <br />Beautification was added by installing decorative lighting, permeable paver parking <br />areas and walk areas and planting trees and shrubs.
