Version 4/2/2019 Page - 9 Public Works Quote <br />XXI.PUMP AND DRIVER INSPECTION <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions: <br />1.Included in this scope is removing the complete pump and driver that are currently installed in the <br />well. This equipment shall be disassembled by an OEM approved pump repair facility for inspection <br />and reporting on the condition of all components. A representative of the City of South Bend will <br />visually inspect the equipment to discuss the repair work that shall be completed. The cost to <br />disassemble the equipment and reinstall back in the well shall be included in this bid. The cost of <br />repair shall be handled as an alternate as the condition of the equipment is not known at this time. <br />The City understands that the cost is subject to the condition of the pump and driver. <br />2.Payment for all work included in the disassembly and the assembly of equipment required to <br />inspect the condition of the pump and driver shall be made as a lump sum as specified in the <br />proposal as follows: <br />Disassembling and reassembling related to inspection of pump and driver ……………………LS <br />XXII.PUMP AND DRIVER RECONDITIONING OR REPLACEMENT <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions: <br />1.Any new column pipe installed shall be epoxy coated. <br />a.Any abrasion during installation shall be coated onsite with the same product. <br />2.Reconditioned pipe shall not be coated. <br />3.The City and the contractor shall not know of the condition of the pump and driver, and other system <br />components such as the column pipe and shaft, until the pump and driver are removed for <br />inspection. As such, an allowance shall be included in the bid proposal. This allowance shall be <br />included in the bid proposal as follows: <br />Well component reconditioning/replacement ……………………LS <br />II.REPLACEMENT MOTOR CLEVELAND WELL #3 <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: None <br />B. Additions: <br />1.Motor submittals shall be provided to the Owner for review and approval prior to ordering the motor. <br />a.Complete listing of requested exceptions to the requirements of the Contract Documents is <br />required. <br />b.Provide address and phone number of the nearest parts/repair service centers and nearest <br />manufacturer’s representative. <br />c.Provide time of delivery. <br />2.Product Data: <br />a. Manufacturer’s literature, illustrations, specifications, paint certification (If required) and <br />engineering data including; dimensions, materials, size, weight, and parts lists for all <br />components in sufficient detail to allow an item-by-item comparison with the Contract <br />Documents. <br />3.Operation and Maintenance Manuals: <br />a.Submit complete operation and maintenance manuals, including shop and field test reports, <br />maintenance data and schedules, description of operation, and spare parts information. <br />4.Delivery, Storage, and Handling <br />a.Prior to shipping, completely inspect products to assure that components are complete and <br />comply with all requirements. Box or crate products as required to prevent damage during <br />shipment. Protect machined surfaces and matching connections to prevent damage.
