Two (2) 5-pound rated ABC fire extinguishers with mounting brackets shall be <br />furnished with the ambulance. These shall be shipped loose to allow the department <br />to install in the desired locations. <br />Y_N_ <br />24.9.1 Two (2) Two (2) Streamlight, model #SL-20-X handheld flashlights, each with <br />charger base, shall be provided. Mounting location shall be one (1) on the driver <br />side front console located directly behind the gear shift selector and one (1) located <br />in the rearward ALS health center located halfway up. <br />YXN_ <br />25.0 MODULE SURFACE PREPARATION <br />A corrosion inhibitor shall be used on specified exterior surfaces and on specified <br />fasteners, hinges and accessories that are subject to the effects of corrosion due to <br />the electrolytic process that occurs between dissimilar metals. The product, <br />designated as ECK, is a petroleum -based substance with a very slow rate of <br />desiccation. The substance functions as a barrier to water, thus minimizing the <br />electrolytic process. It shall be applied in the following conditions and to the <br />following accessories and fasteners: <br />1. Behind stone guards or any other surface area where there is direct contact <br />between dissimilar metals is direct contact between dissimilar metals. <br />2. On light assemblies utilizing self -tapping mounting screws that penetrate the body <br />that penetrate the body. <br />3. On screws and screw holes for any accessory whose holes are drilled and tapped <br />are drilled and tapped. <br />4. On the body surface when any accessory without a rubber or composite gasket is <br />to be mounted (i.e. entry or compartment door hinges or light assemblies without <br />gaskets) or composite gasket is to be mounted, i.e. entry or compartment door <br />hinges or light assemblies without gaskets. <br />ECK shall not be applied in the following conditions: <br />1. When mounting any accessory that has a rubber or composite gasket. <br />2. On light assemblies, which have plastic inserts for mount screws. Y_N <br />25.1 PAINT <br />To produce a high -quality paint finish and to comply with the paint manufacturer's <br />certification requirements for support of the warranty, the preparation and painting <br />process described below must be used. <br />Prior to initiating the surface preparation process, all hardware, handles, light <br />fixtures, door hinges, corner trim, etc. shall be removed from the body. Additionally, <br />any portion of the chassis, which does not require refinishing, shall be protected from <br />the ensuing process. <br />To rid the aluminum body of any extraneous materials or material impurities the <br />entire surface shall be washed and wiped dry with a certified wax and grease <br />remover. Excess weld material shall be removed by grinding all welds, seams, and <br />any other body imperfections. The entire surface shall then be sanded with 80 - 150 <br />grit dry sandpaper to provide good adhesion for any fillers and primers. The required <br />areas will be filled with approved premium lightweight filler and sanded smooth. A <br />premium polysurfacer will be applied directly over these areas to ensure adequate <br />base for application of primers. <br />
