City of South Bend Central Services Division <br />Fire Service, Inc./Wheeled Coach Ambulance <br />Specification <br />Final Sand and Buff The entire exterior surface of the module shall be <br />sanded with a minimum 1200 to 1500 grit sand paper and then followed by 3000 <br />grit wet sandpaper. The exterior of the module will then be polished using the 3M <br />3000 buffing system with 3M Perfect -It III buffing compound to provide a smooth, <br />high gloss final surface finish. This process shall provide a smooth, high gloss finish <br />that is resistant to scratching and chipping. If proper vehicle care is taken. <br />Color Standards and Tolerances. Shall be as required by paragraph <br />3.16.2.1 of Federal Specification KKK-A-1822F. <br />Salt Spray Resistance. Shall meet the requirements of paragraph <br />3.16.3 of Federal Specification KKK-A-1822F. <br />CHEVRON STRIPING- DOT STYLE <br />Chevron striping on the rear of the module. All retroreflective materials required <br />shall conform to the requirements of ASTM D 4956, Standard specification for <br />Reflective sheeting for Traffic Control, Section 6.1.1 for Type I Sheeting. All <br />retroreflective materials used to satisfy the requirements of 15.9.3.1 that are colors <br />not listed in ASTM D 4956, Section 6.1.1, shall have a minimum coefficient of <br />retro reflection on 0 with observation angle of 0.2 degrees and entrance angle of - <br />4 degrees. Fluorescent yellow and fluorescent yellow -green retroreflective <br />materials used to meet the requirements shall conform to the minimum <br />requirements specified for yellow Type I Sheeting in ASTM D 4956, Section <br />6.1.1. Any printed or processed retroreflective film construction used to meet the <br />requirements shall conform to the standards required of an integral colored film as <br />specified in ASTM D 4956, Section 6.1.1. <br />Stripes shall be 6" reflective material in alternating colors. The chevron pattern <br />stripes shall slant downward on both sides of the vehicle at an angle of 45 <br />degrees, pointing in the direction of the bottom rear corners of the tailboard. The <br />pattern shall resemble an inverted V with the point of the V pointing at the top <br />center of the apparatus. <br />10070-0003 11 /05/20 <br />29 <br />
