City of South Bend Central Services Division <br />Fire Service, Inc./Wheeled Coach Ambulance <br />Specification <br />REAR KICK PLATE (Under -ride) <br />Above the rear bumper and below the rear doors, there shall be a full length riser <br />of aluminum diamond plate for a protective kick panel. The kick panel shall be <br />securely fastened with ceramic coated stainless steel screws to inhibit rust that <br />could result from electrolysis and run the full rear width of the module. Pop rivets <br />are not acceptable. This kick panel shall be above the rear bumper height to allow <br />the bumper to ride under the module in case of a minor collision minimizing <br />damage to the module. There shall be a 1/4 inch thick rubber flap secured to the <br />bottom of the kickplate and extending below the top of the bumper to prevent <br />road debris from accumulating on top of the bumper pods. <br />LICENSE PLATE HOLDER <br />A Cast Products license plate holder shall be installed in the rear kickplate. <br />COMPARTMENT SILL PROTECTORS <br />All compartments shall have a stainless steel sill protector. The sill protectors <br />shall be manufactured from 20 gauge stainless steel and cover the bottom door <br />frame protecting it from scratches. <br />THRESHOLDS <br />The curbside and rear entry thresholds shall be stainless steel coated on the upper <br />side with a black poly -urea coating to help prevent slipping. This coating shall be <br />a permanent spray on coating not a grip tape adhered to the stainless steel. <br />REAR MUD FLAPS <br />Wheeled Coach Logo mud flaps shall be installed just behind the rear tires. <br />PREPARATION FOR PAINTING, COLOR AND MARKINGS <br />10070-0003 11 /05/20 <br />26 <br />
