and one office photograph shall be supplied. <br /> Y___N___ <br />1.15 EXPERIMENTAL VEHICLES <br /> <br />It is not the intent of these specifications to call for an unusual or experimental <br />vehicle(s). <br /> Y___N___ <br />1.16 INSPECTION FACILITY <br /> <br />In the event it is deemed necessary for this agency to inspect the vehicle(s) at the <br />primary manufacturer location, a temperature-controlled inspection area separate <br />from the production facility shall be provided. It shall be painted a color to facilitate <br />ease of inspection and shall be lighted in a manner to eliminate shadows in the <br />inspection facility. Work areas with desks, phones, and the necessary tools to <br />accomplish a detailed inspection shall be provided. <br /> Y___N___ <br /> <br />1.17 PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE <br /> <br />The successful Contractor shall be required prior to manufacturing to have a Pre- <br />Construction conference at the site of his choosing with representatives of this <br />agency to finalize all the construction details. If the bidder requires the conference to <br />be held at a location other than that of the purchaser, the bidder at his/her expense <br />shall provide transportation, lodging and meals, etc. for three (3) people designated <br />by the purchaser. If this meeting is to occur at a location more than 250 miles from <br />the purchaser's location, the transportation shall be by commercial air carrier. <br /> Y___N___ <br /> <br />1.18 INSPECTION VISITS <br /> <br />Accompanied by a Dealer Representative, two (2) members of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, or its designees will travel to the successful bidder’s facility for the <br />purpose of inspecting the vehicle for compliance to the specifications and for the <br />overall quality of the vehicle. <br /> <br />Costs shall include air transportation on a major commercial carrier to the nearest <br />airport (if ground transportation exceeds 250 miles), individual rooms, and meals. <br /> <br />Trips shall be one (1) post paint or an in progress inspection and one (1) for final <br />inspection <br /> <br />Inspections shall be scheduled to be conducted during weekdays, including travel <br />time. <br /> Y___N___ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.19 GENERAL VEHICLE DESIGN, TYPE, AND FLOORPLAN <br /> <br />The ambulance and the allied equipment furnished under this specification shall be <br />the manufacturer's current commercial vehicle of the type and class specified. The <br />ambulance shall be complete with the operating accessories as specified herein and <br />furnished with such modifications and attachments as may be necessary or specified <br />to enable the vehicle to function reliably and efficiently in sustained operation.
