the vehicle which covers defective parts and/or components, the improper choice of <br />materials, parts, and/or components, improper design or engineering, and poor or <br />improper workmanship or quality control techniques. The warranty shall cover the <br />complete vehicle and shall include all costs for labor and parts or materials that are <br />required to correct all deficiencies. <br /> <br />If travel is required for warranty repairs, transportation of the unit is the responsibility <br />of the successful bidder. Transportation must take place within the next normal <br />working day, or the responsible party will be charged $100 per day late fee. <br /> <br />There shall be provided a lifetime electrical warranty that covers all conversion circuit <br />boards, harnesses, switches, circuit breakers, and relays. <br /> <br />There shall be provided a lifetime transferable modular body structural warranty. <br />The term transferable is to cover the transfer of the warranty to a second purchaser <br />should the department sell this unit later. The lifetime structural warranty period shall <br />also remain in effect should the modular body be remounted onto a new chassis. <br />This remount must be performed at a service center authorized by the original <br />manufacturer. <br /> Y___N___ <br /> <br />1.5 WARRANTY SURETY <br /> <br />To ensure quality, service, and full compliance to the above warranties, the vehicle, <br />with the exception of the chassis, must be constructed by the ambulance <br />manufacturer. Additional elements constructed and installed "in house" are required <br />to ensure service and parts availability. Subcontractors or lease/rental agreements <br />to outside agencies will fail to meet this requirement. <br /> <br />• Does the ambulance manufacturer as the prime contractor construct the modular <br />body? <br /> <br />• Does the ambulance manufacturer as the prime contractor apply paint? <br /> <br />• Are interior cabinets constructed and installed by the ambulance manufacturer as <br />the prime contractor? <br /> <br />• Are the wiring harnesses, circuit boards, and O2 systems assembled, installed <br />and tested by the ambulance manufacturer as the prime contractor? <br /> <br />• Is the upholstery for seat cushions, head pads, and backrests assembled and <br />installed by the ambulance manufacturer as the prime contractor? <br /> Y___N___ <br /> <br />1.6 DELIVERY <br /> <br />Bidder must state an accurate delivery date which shall not exceed 180 days <br />from the date of bid award. Due to the age of the City’s existing fleet, it is imperative <br />that the unit be delivered as quickly as possible. Stated delivery lead time will be <br />included as an integral part of our bid selection process. FOB Central Services. <br />Liquidated damages of $100.00 dollars per day, per unit will be assessed by the City and <br />deducted from any monies owed to the vendor if the units are not delivered complete to <br />the City by the stated date.
