The purpose of this document is to provide minimum specifications and test <br />parameters for the manufacture of an emergency medical care vehicle that meets <br />the needs and desires of this agency. It establishes essential criteria for the design, <br />performance, equipment, and appearance of the vehicle. All dimensions listed are <br />given as the approximate sizes required to meet the needs of this department. The <br />object is to provide a vehicle that is in accordance with nationally recognized <br />guidelines. All vendors and manufacturers must meet all state and local regulations <br />regarding the manufacturing, licensing, and sale of emergency rescue vehicles and <br />ambulances within the state. <br /> <br />KKK Federal Specifications Y___N___ <br />This Ambulance is required to conform to KKK Federal Specification for the Star of <br />Life Ambulance. The City is not required by Law to be KKK-A-1822F Change Notice <br />8 compliant to meet SAE J3026 Ambulance Patient Compartment Seating Integrity <br />and Occupant Restraint Standards, SAE J3027 Ambulance Litter Integrity, Retention, <br />and Patient Restraint Standards. Bidder shall be a KKK-A-1822F Change Notice 8 <br />compliant to meet SAE J3026 Ambulance Patient Compartment Seating Integrity and <br />Occupant Restraint Standards, and SAE J3027 Ambulance Litter Integrity, Retention, <br />and Patient Restraint Standards. Bidder shall be KKK-A-1822F Change Notice 9 <br />compliant to meet SAE J3043 Ambulance Equipment Mounts; Interior Stowage <br />Accommodations; Equipment Mounting Devices: Installed Oxygen cylinder, cardiac <br />monitor, and fire extinguisher mounting devices shall meet the performance <br />requirements of SAE J3043. Bidder shall be a KKK-A_1822F Change Notice 10 <br />compliant to meet: SAE J3058 Ambulance Interior Storage Compartment Integrity; <br />SAE J3057 Ambulance Modular Body Evaluation-Quasi Static Loading for Type I <br />and Type III Modular Ambulance Bodies; SAE J3102 Ambulance Patient <br />Compartment Structural Integrity Test to Support SAE J3027 Compliant Litter <br />Systems; SAE J3043 Ambulance Equipment Mounts, Interior Stowage <br />Accommodations, Equipment Mounting Devices: Installed suction mounting; to <br />conform to all applicable requirements. <br /> <br />Type I: Specialty cab and chassis with containerized modular body. <br /> <br />Class I: Two-rear wheel driven (4x2). <br /> <br />Configuration A: Elevating cot and squad bench for ALS (3.1.5.1/3.15.3 of F-Spec). <br /> <br />This is an engineer, design, construct, and deliver type specification and it is not the <br />intention of this agency to write out vendors or manufacturers of similar or equal <br />equipment of the types specified. It should be noted, however, that this specification <br />is written around the specific needs of this department. With the intent to standardize <br />certain components, specific brands have been specified in certain places. This has <br />been done to establish a certain standard of quality. Other brands will be accepted <br />providing the vendor or manufacturer details how another brand will meet or exceed <br />the quality of the actual brand specified. Because of this, the Review Board reserves <br />the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids. <br /> <br />The emergency medical care vehicle, chassis, ambulance body, equipment, devices, <br />medical accessories, and electronic equipment to be delivered under this contract <br />shall be standard commercial products that meet or exceed the requirements of this <br />specification. The ambulance shall comply with all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety <br />Standards (FMVSS) and Federal regulations applicable or specified for the year of <br />manufacture.
