American Response Vehicles
63
COMPARTMENT TILE EDGING: The yellow plastic tile edge material will mate to the outer edge of the
compartment tile and will taper to the front edge for a smooth transition.

KNOX BOX MEDVAULT: Install Customer Supplied Unit. Unit to be a Knox Box #5502. The Knox Box will be
located just forward of the Action Area Board.

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR: While a carbon monoxide detector will detect incomplete oxidation during
combustion in gas ranges and unvented gas or kerosene heaters that may cause high concentrations of
Carbon monoxide in indoor air. Worn or poorly adjusted and maintained combustion devices (e.g., boilers,
furnaces) can be significant sources, or if the flue is improperly sized, blocked, disconnected, or is leaking. The
main cause for concern in the ambulance is due to auto, truck, or bus exhaust from attached garages, nearby
roads, or parking areas can also be a source. The unit will be installed in the patient area and wired 12v into
the ambulance conversion system. This detector contains an end of life timer operated from an independent
lithium battery that will operate for four (4) years and eleven (11) months from the date of manufacture. At
the end of life, the detector will begin to signal for replacement with beeping and flashing LED signal alarm.
End of life replacement is not warranted. The unit will be located on the right rear (M-5) compartment filler in
the patient compartment, facing the aisle, mounted up high, with location shown on the drawings.

“DAY BRIGHT" LIGHTING: The interior of the cabinets noted below will be illuminated with White LED flat rope
lighting and will be recessed into the backside of the cabinet perimeter aluminum tracking. The lights must be
in the front of the cabinet shining towards the backside of the cabinet in order to see what is in the cabinet
without the light being blocked by the components stored in the cabinet. The idea is to illuminate the interior
of the cabinet and not to shine outward toward the personnel looking inside the cabinet. There will be a
switch in the patient compartment switch panel to turn the light(s) on and off as desired by the crew.

INTERIOR CABINET LIGHT SWITCHING: The cabinet interior lights will be activated via an icon from the patient
area multi-plexed control system.

The following cabinets feature “Day Bright” cabinet lighting.
- Cabinet A
- Cabinet B
- Cabinet C
- Cabinet D
- Cabinet I-1
- Cabinet I-2
- Cabinet K-1
- Cabinet K-2
- Cabinet K-3
- Cabinet G-1
- Cabinet G-2
- Cabinet F

ACTION AREA LIGHTING: A 12-volt LED light will be provided directly over the forward, street side work
