3. Leased spaces. <br />4. Company vehicles. <br />5. Personal vehicles used for company business. <br />6. Customer premises and customer vehicles where a Reynolds Construction employee is <br />working or performing services. <br />7. The grounds and parking lot adjacent or approximate to any of these above areas. <br />GENERAL: <br />To comply with federal highway DOT regulations, as well as DOT pipeline safety regulations <br />and the regulations of Reynolds Construction, this policy extends to include the following type <br />of tests for drugs and alcohol: <br /> Pre-employment testing. <br /> Company random testing. <br /> Post incident/injury testing. <br /> Reasonable cause testing. <br /> Return to work testing. <br />EXPLANATION OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING CATEGORIES: <br />Pre-Employment Testing: <br />Prior to being employed, applicants shall undergo pre-employment screening by urine testing for <br />the presence of illegal drugs or other controlled substances. An applicant will not be employed <br />or authorized to report to work until a negative test result has been reported. <br />A confirmed positive test result shall be grounds for denying or revoking employment to the <br />applicant and will disqualify an applicant for reconsideration for six (6) months. Proof of <br />rehabilitation will be required for reconsideration of employment. Testing will be performed by a <br />laboratory certified by the National Institute on Drug Abuse or an equivalent organization as <br />determined by the Company at its sole discretion. <br />A pre-employment substance abuse test will be considered valid for up to 30 days. If a <br />prospective employee has not begun work within that time period, it will be necessary for <br />him/her to take another pre-employment test. If a new hire decides not to take a position, but <br />applies later for another, it will be necessary for he/she to start over with another pre- <br />employment test. <br />Random Testing: <br />Only DOT covered employees are subject to random drug testing at the level of 25% every <br />twelve months, with testing to be conducted on a quarterly basis.
