Thetransducer <br />continuouslymonitors pump pressuresending a signalto the Electronic Control Module <br />(ECM). <br />The governor can be used in two (2)modes ofoperation, RPM modeandpressuremodes. <br />In the RPMmode, the governorcanbe activatedaftervehicleparkingbrake hasbeenset. <br />Wheninthis mode,thegovernor shallmaintainthesetengine speed,regardless ofengine <br />load(within engineoperation capabilities). <br />In the pressuremode,thegovernor systemcanonlyoperateafterthefire pumphas been <br />engaged andthevehicle parkingbrake hasbeen set.When inthe pressuremode,the pressure <br />controllermonitorsthe pumppressure and variesengine speedtomaintain aprecisepump <br />pressure. The pressure controller shallusea quickerreactingJ1939database forengine <br />control.(excluding Catengines) <br />A presetfeatureallowsa predeterminedpressure orrpm to be set. <br />A pump cavitation protection featureisalsoprovidedwhichshallreturntheengine toidle <br />should the pumpcavitate.Cavitationissensed bythecombination of pump pressurebelow <br />30 psi andengine speedabove 2000rpm formore than five (5)seconds. <br />The throttle shall bea Vernierstylecontrol, with alarge control knob for use witha gloved <br />hand. A throttlereadylightshall beprovided adjacent to thethrottle control.
