South Bend Fire Department <br />Theaircraftcableusedtocontrolthevalvefromthelevershallbefurnishedwith7/8”bulkhead <br />and5/16”threadonbothends.Thecableendnearestthevalvewillhavea5/16”swivelu-joint. <br />This cable allows forease of maintenance and operation. <br />Theleverbellcrankshallbeenclosedina"common"aluminumboxthatisattachedbelowthe <br />pump operator’scontrol panel. <br />The aluminum box shall be weatherresistant so that dust is not allowed to enter the operatorarea <br />through the pump control panel. <br />The control shall be properly identified with a color-codedname plate. <br />One (1)Tank Fill/Cooling Line, Water Tank,2" <br />23-02-1300 <br />FIRE PUMP TO WATER TANK FILL LINE <br />One (1) 2" fire pump to water tankrefill and pump bypass cooler line shall be provided. The <br />valve shall be afull flow quarter turn ball valve with 2" piping and flex hose to tank. The valve <br />control handle shall have a nameplate located near the valve control. <br />One (1)VlvMfger,AKR,8000, (2") <br />24-62-1200 <br />The valve shall bean Akron 8000 Series two-inch (2") valve with a stainless ball. <br />One (1)Intk Vlv Cntrl, AKR,Sealed Lever Bank <br />22-55-4070 <br />The valve control shall be a sealed lever with aircraftcable control. The lever shall be locking <br />with a polished finish.
