South Bend Fire Department <br />CommanderChassis <br />One (1)EngineExhaustWrap <br />06-08-0200 <br />ENGINE EXHAUSTWRAP <br />Theexhausttubingbetweentheengineturboandthedieselparticulatefilter(DPF)shallbe <br />wrappedwithathermalcoverinordertoretainthenecessaryheatforDPFregeneration.The <br />exhaustwrapshallalsohelpprotectsurroundingcomponentsfromradiantheatwhichcanbe <br />transferredfrom the exhaust. <br />One (1)DPF Control Regeneration Switch & InhibitSwitchCovered <br />08-02-0140 <br />DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER CONTROLS <br />ProvideDPFsystemstatusannunciationindicatorlights,lightsshallbeinstalledondriver dash <br />to alert driver whenregeneration is needed and when DPF is in an activere-generation cycle. <br />Warning systems shall provide DEF low level warning. <br />Driver'sdashshallbeprovidedwithtwo(2)controlsfortheDieselparticulatefilter;one(1) <br />manualregenerationswitchtoactivatearegenerationcyclemanuallywhenpassiveburnis <br />unobtainable due to driving conditions; and one (1) Regen "Inhibit Switch". <br />The switches shall be located in a covered location. <br />One (1)Engine CoolingSystem-L9 <br />06-04-2002 <br />ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM <br />The radiatorand the complete cooling system shall meet or exceedNFPAand engine <br />manufacturer cooling system requirements. <br />The system shall includeand feature the following: <br />·A vertically stacked charge air cooler providing the maximum cooling capacity for the engine. <br />Proposals offering horizontally stacked charge aircooler shall not be acceptable.
