The filter house shall contain a removeable and washable filter <br />element. Manufacturer to supply most current air filtration design. <br />The vacuum system shall operate independently and/or <br />simultaneously of the water pump system. It shall be capable of <br />variable operating ranges and be powered by the truck chassis <br />engine. <br />A vacuum/pressure gauge shall be supplied at the operator's station. <br />An internal boom valve shall be supplied and operated from the <br />operator's station and remote pendent. Valve shall be capable of <br />completely stopping all airflow to build an instantaneous 16" Hg <br />within the debris body. The valve shall also be capable of quickly <br />opening to create an immediate updraft. <br />Blower Drive: <br />Chassis driven directly through a continuous duty transfer case. Any <br />YES NO <br />bidder wishing to bid an alternatively driven blower may do so with <br />a detailed explanation of the system and the benefits to be received <br />by the City of South Bend from the use of such a system. All <br />bidders must include detailed diagrams of blower drive system <br />being bid. Central Services personnel will review the systems bid <br />for reliability and ease of service. The results of this review will be <br />used as a part of the overall evaluation of the units bid. <br />Vacuum <br />There shall be a warning light and audible alarm when the hose is <br />YES NO <br />System Pick <br />raised from the travel position. <br />Up Hose: <br />Rotation, extension, and lift shall be controlled hydraulically at the <br />operator's station by means of a "joy -stick' and by a portable <br />pendant control that can operate all boom functions including the <br />internal boom valve. Pendent control shall have a quick disconnect <br />and be able to reach beyond the extended boom in any direction. <br />For operator safety, a vacuum shut off switch shall be provided at <br />the operator station that will instantly cut off vacuum air flow and <br />reduce engine RPM to idle. Unit will also include an emergency <br />stop system at every operator interface/control station. <br />The boom shall be mounted at the rear portion of the debris body <br />with a minimum 320' rotation providing full coverage of the <br />potential work area. <br />The boom shall rotate right and left a minimum of 270 degrees. <br />Boom shall reach to the side a minimum of 23' from the center of <br />the truck and raise to a minimum height of 25' . <br />
