South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -June 16, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CON'T) <br />a. continued... <br />amending the South Bend Central Development PLAN. <br />Area Development Plan. <br />Mr. Hunt asked that item 6.m. be considered at this <br />time. There were no objections and item 6.m. was <br />moved up on the agenda. <br />m. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1776 commending <br />Ann E. Kolata for Extraordinary Service to <br />the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. <br />Mr. Hunt noted that Ann E. Kolata was retiring <br />as Redevelopment Director on June 21, 2000 and <br />this was her last meeting as director. He read the <br />resolution commending Ann: <br />WHEREAS, Ann E. Kolata has been an employee <br />of the City of South Bend since 1979 and in her <br />twenty years of public service has served as <br />Director of Redevelopment for twelve years; and <br />WHEREAS, Ann played a leadership role in <br />developing plans for the East Bank Development <br />Area, Monroe Park Development Area, the <br />Sample Ewing Development Area, and the <br />Airport Economic Development Area (better <br />known as Blackthorn) as well as the more recent <br />Downtown and Commercial Corridor Strategic <br />Action Plans, providing vision and practical <br />experience in preparation of these plans; and <br />WHEREAS, Ann played a leading role in setting <br />policy and negotiating through the details of <br />many important projects; and <br />WHEREAS, Ann had an active role in projects <br />such as the East Race Waterway, Monroe Park <br />G <br />
