NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />e. continued... <br />Bob Case presented the following staff <br />report to the Commission for its <br />consideration. <br />Charley Hayes, Inc. proposes to <br />purchase the southwest corner of <br />Lafayette Boulevard and Garst Street, <br />known as Lot 2, Studebaker Corridor <br />Sixth Minor Subdivision. The parcel is <br />approximately 39,880 sf. <br />Mr. Hayes proposes to construct a 1,000 <br />sf building, repair curbs and sidewalks, <br />fence in an area for security purposes <br />and work with Exacto to provide an area <br />for additional parking. <br />Charley Hayes, Inc. owns the property <br />directly adjacent to the west side of this <br />site. He is looking to expand the <br />telecommunication park on the proposed <br />site. Currently, there is a 330' radio <br />tower with an equipment shelter at the <br />bottom of the tower. The tower and <br />shelter provide facilities for the South <br />Bend Police Department, several paging <br />companies and providers of two -way <br />radio communications. AT &T has a <br />building at the base of the tower and <br />Omnipoint has an outdoor equipment <br />cabinet for their wireless phone services. <br />-8- <br />
