South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - April 28, 2000 <br />n. Commission approval requested to <br />authorize the Director to sign a Replat. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that she was informed <br />this morning that Redevelopment is still <br />the owner of one or two lots along Sadie <br />Street behind the Olive Street fire station. <br />She also stated that some of the lots in <br />that area have been conveyed to Habitat <br />for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity <br />wants to replat the lots still owned by <br />Redevelopment and located along Sadie <br />Street. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded <br />by Mr. Kahn and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission authorized the Director <br />to sign the replat in connection with the <br />Redevelopment owned Lots located along <br />Sadie Street in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Charles Hayes stated he purchased a parcel of <br />land back in 1996 and constructed a <br />communications tower on it to service the <br />telecommunications - related businesses <br />operating near the tower. He also stated that <br />the tower has done very well. The sheriff's <br />department, a two -way paging company, <br />Omni -point and AT &T are all located out <br />there. There are also a couple of internet <br />companies located out there. Mr. Hayes <br />stated that they are trying to develop a <br />congruency between wireless and wireline <br />fiber optics. He would like to purchase the <br />adjacent piece of property with the idea that <br />he would construct buildings which would be <br />related more to the fiber optic, non - wireless <br />industry. Subsequently, marrying that with <br />-14- <br />COMMISSION AUTHORIZED THE DIRECTOR TO <br />SIGN THE REPLAT IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />REDEVELOPMENT OWNED LOTS LOCATED <br />ALONG SADIE STREET IN THE SAMPLE -EWING <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />
