Commission approval requested for a <br />Sign Variance from Cort Furniture in <br />connection with the property at 123 S. <br />Michigan Street in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that a letter -of- request <br />was received from Cort Furniture for a <br />sign variance in connection with the <br />property at 123 S. Michigan Street. She <br />also stated that the Commission is <br />obligated to approve the signage for Cort <br />Furniture as stated in the Lease between <br />Cort Furniture and the Redvelopment <br />Commission. <br />The size of the sign is slightly over the <br />lease requirement that the sign not <br />exceed 80 percent of the window <br />frontage. The proposed sign is 83 <br />percent. The staff recommends <br />approving the Sign since the difference <br />is not significant. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded <br />by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission approved the Sign from <br />Cort Furniture in connection with the <br />property at 123 S. Michigan Street in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />-8- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE SIZE OF THE SIGN <br />IN CONNECTION WITH JAKE'S PIZZA IN THE <br />SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA, <br />SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE SIGN FROM CORT <br />FURNITURE IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />PROPERTY AT 123 S.
