South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - January 21, 2000
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
d. Filing of Resolution No. 1737
Expanding the Boundaries of the South
Bend Central Development Area,
Establishing a Tax Allocation Area for
purposes of Tax Increment Financing
and Amending the South Bend Central
Development Area Development Plan
and Setting a Public Hearing on
Resolution No. 1737 for 10:00 a.m., on
February 18, 2000.
Mrs. Kolata stated that Resolution No.
1737 amends the boundaries of the South
Bend Central Development Area by
adding Expansion Area No. 4 known as
the Downtown Medical Services District.
The Resolution also establishes the
Downtown Medical Services District as a
Tax Increment Finance Allocation Area.
The Downtown Medical Services District
will be its own TIF Allocation Area and
will not be part of the Allocation Area for
the rest of the South Bend Central
Development Area.
The reason for expanding South Bend
Central Development Area is to provide
for orderly growth and development of
health care related uses located within
Expansion Area No. 4, and the encourage
development projects which complement
development activities in the Central
Business District and the Downtown
Medical Services District.
-8-
