South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - December 17, 1999 <br />Development Area Development Plan by <br />adding the properties at 210 W. Monroe <br />St. owned by Patricia J. Bell and 215 S. <br />Main St. owned by William E. Lee Family <br />Trust to the acquisition list. She also <br />stated that the property at 215 S. Main St. <br />does not have a structure on it and the <br />property at 210 W. Monroe is where the <br />Bell Parts Supply Company is located. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the reason for <br />adding those two properties to the South <br />Bend Central Development Area is <br />twofold: (1) The acquisition of the <br />property at 210 W. Monroe Street is in <br />connection with the expansion of the new <br />Studebaker Museum; (2) The acquisition <br />of the property at 215 S. Main Street is <br />needed in order to expand the property <br />which is being acquired at the corner of <br />Main and Jefferson in connection with <br />assembling a site for a new Class A <br />downtown office building. <br />She presented the Comprehensive Site <br />Plan of the downtown area to the <br />Commission for its consideration. Mrs. <br />Kolata stated that approximately two years <br />ago this Site Plan was presented to the <br />Commission identifying the potential sites <br />for new development and the key areas <br />which could be used. Mrs. Kolata stated <br />that the property at the corner of Main and <br />Jefferson Streets was identified as one of <br />the sites for the new Class A office <br />development. The property at 215 S. Main <br />Street is south of the new Class A office <br />site and is needed in order to enlarge that <br />IL -8- <br />
