NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />b. continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded by COMMISSION ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 1712 <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />Commission adopted Resolution No. 1712 <br />DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF CERTAIN LOCAL <br />appropriating monies for the purpose of <br />PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />defraying the expenses of certain local <br />BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1999, AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1999, INCLUDING ALL <br />public improvements for the fiscal year <br />OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS, <br />beginning January 1, 1999, and ending <br />FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE <br />December 31, 1999, including all <br />EFFECT <br />outstanding claims and obligations, fixing a <br />time when the same shall take effect. <br />C. Opening of Bids received relative to <br />property in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that two Bids were <br />received as of 10:00 a.m., today regarding <br />the property at the corner of Main and <br />Sample Streets. <br />The first bid received was from Apex <br />Properties, Inc. Mrs. Kolata opened and <br />read the bid. The proposed purchase price <br />was $33,550, subject to the City of South <br />Bend warranting the environmental safety of <br />the property. The ten percent performance <br />guaranty was submitted. <br />Apex Properties, Inc. proposes to develop a <br />quality retail /service facility with extensive <br />greenbelt landscaping, attractive lighting <br />and quality construction with a Studebaker <br />motif complimenting the architecture and <br />building exterior of the surrounding area. <br />The total square footage under the roof will <br />be in excess of 8, 000 sf. <br />-5- <br />
