NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />d. continued... <br />Rollins proposes to build a 13,500 sf <br />masonry building for a truck leasing <br />facility, which will employ 18 people. <br />Mr. Case stated that Rollins plans to start <br />construction soon after the closing and <br />complete the project by March 2000. <br />The required 10 percent faithful <br />performance guarantee in the amount of <br />$21,664 was not submitted by Rollins. <br />A check in the amount of $20,000 was <br />submitted. <br />The staff recommends accepting the <br />Ic proposal and working with Rollins <br />Truck Leasing Corporation subject to: <br />(1) Rollins working with the <br />Redevelopment staff on redesigning the <br />site and landscaping plans; (2) Rollins <br />submitting the remaining $1,644.00 of <br />the 10 percent performance guarantee; <br />(3) Ameritech Drive being extended in <br />order to serve the site; (4) The <br />Redevelopment Commission being able <br />to subdivide and rezone the site from <br />"IP" Industrial Park to "D" Light <br />Industrial. The staff recommends <br />allowing truck usage on interior lots of <br />the U.S. 31 Industrial Park and this lot is <br />an interior lot. <br />Rollins agreed to make a $100,000 <br />donation to the City of South Bend to <br />help offset the cost of the road <br />construction. <br />
