South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - May 7, 1999 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />b. Commission approval requested for <br />proposal to close an underground <br />storage tank in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that item 6.b. is <br />related to item 6.a. <br />She also stated that proposals for <br />removal and disposal of the 3' of sludge <br />and closing the underground tank were <br />received from Knapp Environmental <br />Construction Services, Inc. in the <br />amount of $3,800 and Warner & Sons in <br />the amount of $3,500. The staff <br />recommends accepting the proposal <br />from Warner & Sons. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, <br />seconded by Ms. Schwartz and <br />unanimously carried, the Commission <br />accepted the proposal from Warner & <br />Sons in the amount of $3,500 for <br />professional services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. <br />c. Commission approval requested for <br />proposals for appraisal services in the <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(414 W. Sample) <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the property at <br />414 W. Sample needs to be appraised for <br />lease and sale purposes. The two <br />proposals received were from Douglas <br />Carpenter in the amount of $2,000 and <br />the Appraisal Group in the amount of <br />$2,200.
