South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />�i Regular Meeting - December 4, 1998 <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS (CONT.) <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that the Area Plan <br />Commission will hold a Public Hearing on <br />December 15, 1998, regarding the Phase II <br />and III Blackthorn Master Plan. She also <br />reported that Owen Rock, Economic <br />Development Specialist, and Mayor Steve <br />Luecke gave a presentation at the November <br />Area Plan Commission meeting. <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that the Woodwind and <br />Brasswind is nearly completed. They will <br />move in after the first of the year. <br />She also reported that the footings and <br />foundation for Schafer Gear's new building <br />are being poured. The Redevelopment staff <br />will coordinate the construction of the road, <br />which will serve Schafer Gear with Heinz <br />Baus, since the cost of the road will be split <br />50150. The road is to be completed by mid - <br />1999. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated the Wal -Mart on Portage <br />Road is nearly completed. <br />She also reported that limestone blocks have <br />been installed at the corner of Nimtz and <br />Moreau Court and will serve as entrance <br />signage to the Blackthorn Corporate Park. <br />However, the letters will be installed in the <br />spring of 1999. An additional sign will be <br />installed next year near the bypass in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that the new traffic <br />signal has been installed at Brick Road and <br />Ameritech Drive. <br />HAWPDATA \COMMSN\ 120498.MIN -12- <br />
