NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Mr. Shaver stated that the proposed facility <br />would have parking for 56 vehicles and <br />would employ approximately ten people in <br />the gas station. <br />Mr. Hunt asked what hours of the day would <br />the facility be open for business. <br />Mr. Shaver stated that the facility would be <br />open 24 hours a day. <br />Ms. Schwartz asked Mr. Shaver if Welsh Oil <br />has a facility already in South Bend similar to <br />the facility Welsh Oil proposes to construct <br />in the U.S. 31 Industrial Park. Mr. Shaver <br />stated that the facility Welsh Oil proposes to <br />construct would be the first of its kind <br />constructed in South Bend by Welsh Oil. He <br />also stated that Welsh Oil has a similar <br />facility in Michigan City, Indiana, at the <br />corner of U.S. 421 and U.S. 20. <br />Mrs. Kolata asked Mr. Shaver if it would be a <br />problem for Welsh Oil to submit the <br />performance guarantee. Mr. Shaver stated <br />that it would not be a problem for Welsh Oil <br />to submit the performance guarantee. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the Commission <br />would like to see a more detailed landscaping <br />site plan for the Commission's consideration <br />before the project is complete.
