NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Oil and sells its gasoline and diesel fuel to the <br />motoring public. Welsh Oil is a petroleum <br />franchise, which is a truck -stop industry. <br />Welsh Oil currently owns four truck stops <br />and has another truck stop currently under <br />construction. Welsh Oil is also a Wendy's, <br />Subway and Blimpie franchise and has a <br />landlord/tenant relationship at some of its <br />properties, including White Castle, <br />McDonald's and Burger King. <br />Mr. Shaver stated that Welsh Oil is a 76- <br />year -old company. <br />Mr. Shaver presented pictures of landscaping <br />around a similar building which Welsh Oil <br />owns. He stated that Welsh Oil will comply <br />with the landscaping issue and construct <br />more landscaping around the facility Welsh <br />Oil proposes to construct in the U.S. 31 <br />Industrial Park. <br />Mr. Hunt asked Mr. Shaver if there would be <br />semi -truck parking at the U.S. 31 Industrial <br />Park facility. Mr. Shaver stated that there <br />would be semi -truck fueling but not semi - <br />truck parking at the proposed site. He also <br />stated that semi -truck fueling would be at the <br />rear of the proposed facility. <br />Mr. Shaver stated that because there is traffic <br />traveling north and south on U.S. 31, going <br />into and out of Michigan, Welsh Oil felt by <br />offering diesel fuel it would offset the cost of <br />its proposed facility. <br />HAWPDATATOMMSM080798.MIN -6- <br />
