The rear brakes will be MeritorTM 16.50" x 7.00" cam operated with automatic slack adjusters. Dust <br />shields will be provided. <br />BRAKE SYSTEM AIR COMPRESSOR <br />The air compressor will be a Cummins/WABCO with 18.7 cubic feet per minute output. <br />BRAKE SYSTEM <br />The brake system will include: <br />• Brake treadle valve <br />• Heated automatic moisture ejector on air dryer <br />• Total air system minimum capacity of 4,272 cubic inches <br />• Two (2) air pressure gauges with a red warning light and an audible alarm, that activates when <br />air pressure falls below 60 psi <br />• Spring set parking brake system <br />• Parking brake operated by a push-pull style control valve <br />• A parking "brake on" indicator light on instrument panel <br />• Park brake relay/inversion and anti -compounding valve, in conjunction with a double check <br />valve system, with an automatic spring brake application at 40 psi <br />• A pressure protection valve to prevent all air operated accessories from drawing air from the air <br />system when the system pressure drops below 80 psi (550 kPa) <br />• 1/4 turn drain valves on each air tank <br />The air tank will be primed and painted to meet a minimum 750 hour salt spray test. <br />To reduce the effects of corrosion, the air tank will be mounted with stainless steel brackets. <br />BRAKE SYSTEM AIR DRYER <br />The air dryer will be a WABCO System Saver 1200 IWT, with internal wet tank, spin -on coalescing filter <br />cartridge and 100 watt heater. <br />BRAKE LINES <br />Color -coded nylon brake lines will be provided. The lines will be wrapped in a heat protective loom in <br />the chassis areas that are subject to excessive heat. <br />AIR INLET <br />One (1) air inlet with 3D series male coupling will be provided. It will allow station air to be supplied to <br />the apparatus brake system through a shoreline hose. The inlet will be located forward in the driver <br />side lower step well of cab. A check valve will be provided to prevent reverse flow of air. The inlet will <br />discharge into the "wet" tank of the brake system.
