South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - December 19, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
r. continued....
Robert Hunt asked if there was anyone
else who wished to speak regarding
Resolution No. 1559. There wasn't
anyone else who wished to speak and
Robert Hunt closed the public hearing for
whatever action the Commission wished to
take.
Ms. Auburn commented that the
Studebaker Museum site plan with the
outdoor area and the Children's Park really
looks fabulous. It has been a long time
coming.
Mr. Robert Hunt stated that, relative to the
Museum, it's been a long standing position
of many people in the downtown area that
this Museum be a part of the
Entertainment District. It would basically
complete the portion —the Palais Royale,
Coveleski Stadium, Century Center and so
on. The lengthy battle that took place over
where the museum should be located is
finally resolved. They absolutely need this
property to complete their plans. I
strongly support this acquisition.
Anne Bruneel asked permission that
Exhibits A, B, C, D and E be entered into
the record.
Upon a motion by Ms. Schwartz, seconded
by Ms. Auburn and unanimously carried,
the Commission entered Exhibits A, B, C,
D and E into the record.
F:\ HOME\CPHWPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\121997.MIN -48-
