South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - December 19, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
r. continued....
Street, commonly known as the Dreisbach
site for the GSA contract. As you know, it
was awarded to an out -of -town contractor
for the Monroe and Lafayette corner. I
remain that local, property tax paying
citizen seeking fair treatment from you. I
do not believe it would be an ethical
course of action for the Commission, if
this resolution, in any way, causes my
competitor to obtain the 602 property for
the Social Security project.
ANNE BRUNEEL: I just would like to
state for the record that nothing in this
Resolution sets any compensation level for
the property at all. It is just a preliminary
action that will add the parcel to the
acquisition list. From there, it is
completely a separate process as far as the
acquisition and any subsequent disposition
of the property.
JOHN GOULD: Acquisition leads to
compensation.
ANN KOLATA: This does not authorize
any purchase offers. This is only adding it
to the acquisition list.
JOHN GOULD: Certainly it's early on but
that was the time for the public to make
their views known.
ANNE BRUNEEL: And I just wanted to
make that clear for the record.
F:\ HOME\ CPHIPPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\121997.MIN -47-
