South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - December 19, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
r. continued....
Anne Bruneel noted that just to clarify the
record, Exhibit A is the Downtown South
Bend Building Coverage map that was
referred to by Jon Hunt; Exhibit B is the
South Bend Central Development Area
Development Plan; Exhibit C is the Real
Estate Strategy Team Report; Exhibit D is
the summary of the Comprehensive Plan
by the Area Plan Commission and Exhibit
E is the Studebaker Museum site plan.
Ms. Schwartz thanked the staff for their
presentation, which was very thorough and
gave not only a current situation but a
historical background. She commented
that the staff has summarized the
information that has been available to all
the Commission members and her.
Ms. Schwartz noted that as the
Commission has been moving toward this
date, she has been on the Commission for
almost a year now, it certainly brought to
her view and vote on previous matters
relating to downtown acquisition the
information that has been presented today,
particularly with regard to the need for
additional Class A office space in the
high- density downtown area. She also
noted that for the downtown to continue an
impressive, dramatic and significant
growth and development it is necessary to
continue the presence of additional Class
A office space.
F:\HOUE\CPHWPS\WPDATA\COMMSM121997.MIN -49-
