NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />r. continued.... <br />I'll close it out by summarizing that we <br />don't believe the existing conditions <br />support the Plan that have been in place <br />for a number of years. We believe that the <br />proposed development concept would <br />support the Plan and add momentum to the <br />continued downtown development. <br />ANNE BRUNEEL: Jon, just one more <br />point that I think you had mentioned early <br />on the Comprehensive Plan. Could you <br />explain that just a little for the <br />Commission? And do you have a copy of <br />that document? <br />a JON HUNT: I have a summary of the Plan <br />that was developed in the early 1970's by <br />the Area Plan Commission. And in terms <br />of the downtown area and it's probably <br />more visible on ... this is the Plan that was <br />actually used for the public. The other <br />planning documents are stacked this high. <br />The existing Area Plan Commission <br />Comprehensive Plan that they use for their <br />zoning and development decisions, shows <br />here in blue, and it is tough to see, is <br />bounded by the new St. Joseph over to <br />Lafayette, as office, business and planned <br />commercial in supporting the high density <br />development that is needed in a <br />downtown. <br />ANNE BRUNEEL: Can we refer to that <br />now as Exhibit D. <br />JON HUNT: I don't know if the <br />F:\HOMIE\CPHIPPS\WPDATA\COMMSN\121997.MIN -38- <br />
