51/2017 XFINITYConnect Bittersweet Trail Printout
Debra Parcell <dparcell@co.st joseph.in.us>
Bittersweet Trail
To dviss830@comcast.net
Hi David,
4/21/2017 11:04 AM
In reviewing your COA application with Elicia, we have determined that we need two things from you by
May 1, to be included for the May meeting agenda.
1) Screening/landscaping plan for the dumpster.
2) Landscaping to obscure the view of the egress window and adjacent air conditioner.
The gravel driveway looks fine.
Additionally, while I was at your property, I noticed a couple windows on the summer kitchen/cottage that
look like they will be needing repairs in the future. Window repairs do not require a COA; replacement
does. If you need names of contractors to do the work, give us a call and we can forward a list of names to
you. if you want to do the job yourself, following is some information from our HPC President, Tim
Klusczinski, regarding wood window repair that might be helpful:
... about glass cutters. A reasonably good one is still affordable and becomes justifiable when factoring in on-
site convenience and realized savings when not having to pay to have your glass cut elsewhere.
As a general rule, high quality, professional grade tools are made by the CR. Laurence company (abbreviated
CRL). CR Laurence is a wordwide supplier to the glazing and construction industries. Fortunately, you need not
register with CRL to benefit from their line of glazing tools. Instead, you may order through Amazon.com.
The glass -cutter I use and recommend is the self -oiling "TOYO" model.
www.amazon.com/an/ow/d/B0061FPJ7Y/ref=va ow oh bid do?ie=UTFB&osc=7
Naturally, you will also need the proper oil. I use cutting oil also from CRL.
httDsJ/www.amazon.com/ao/0w/d/B00269T4K0/ref=od aw fbt 60 ima 2?
ie=UTF8&osc= 1&refRID=PCPMOSNB3NKFKIG934PG
I typically use CRL glazing points to secure the glass pane into the rebate channel inside the sash. But any
available in the hardware store should work equally well. Red Devil and Warner are common brand names.
Remove old paint AND soften old glazing putty with heat Infrared transfer is most effective (see Eco -Strip
Inc.). Smaller infrared heaters are available online. But as a second option, a standard heat gun is effective for
heat transfer to window frames and sashes. A heat gun is GREAT for softening glazing putty before removing
it from the sash. Best heat gun has a variable temperature capability allowing the user to dial in the
appropriate setting for the job at hand. 500-700 degree F while moving that heat source back and forth over a
line of putty should not crack glass.
After the prep work, let the healing begin...
httpsJlconnectxfinitycom/appsdte/v=7.8.3-16.20170411.1737201printhtrnl?print 1493645700440 1/3
