Egress and Air Conditioning Area <br />The egress window comes supplied with a clear plastic cone for the purpose of shedding rain water, but <br />non-attached so that is easily removed in the event of need for egress. The nature of the foundation of <br />this home (wide at the installation depth) prevents the cone from reaching the side of the house. Based <br />on the futility of the cover for effective rain deflection, as well as the non -cosmetic appearance, it was a <br />consensus thought to simply remove that cover. To cover the appearance of the egress window, and to <br />provide a reasonable barrier to falling hazard, shrubs will be installed around the egress windwo pit. At <br />the time of the visual inspection, it was also deemed important to screen the A/C area with vegetation. <br />With the A/C, the goals will be <br />• obscure the view of A/C <br />safety in positioning of the plantings to prevent interference with A/C function, or fire risk <br />preserve servicing access <br />With the egress window, the goals will be <br />• obscure the view of the egress window <br />• preserving ease of egress for home evacuation <br />Plan: <br />We plan to install shade -tolerant green shrubs, perhaps arbor vitae, according to the following <br />schematic. <br />Current appearance: <br />
