CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />1. 706 N St Joseph Street <br />Representation: <br />Date: 6 November 2017 <br />COA# 2017-1101 #8308-92 River Bend <br />Nancy Coiro, 706 N St. Joseph Street. <br />Mike Gillis, Champion Windows <br />STAFF REPORT <br />CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR A <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />Application Number: 2017-1101 <br />Property Location: 706 N St Joseph Street <br />Architectural Style/Date/Architect or Builder: American Foursquare / 1905 / "The Good House" <br />Property Owner: Mark Zimmerman <br />Landmark or District Designation: River Bend Historic District Ordinance #8308-92 <br />Rating: Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: This two-story American Foursquare sits on a fieldstone foundation. The second <br />story has a slight overhang. The hipped roof has asphalt shingles, hipped dormers, and a center brick chimney. The street facing <br />side has concrete steps and stoop, an iron railing, and a corrugated metal overhang. Windows are 9 -pane fixed on the front first <br />story, 1/1 double hung. The dormer has a 6 -pane casement. Windows have aluminum storm windows, a wood front door with <br />aluminum storm door. A detached one -car concrete block garage with a flat roof is to the rear of the house. <br />ALTERATIONS: Siding is not original and predates the district designation. Large overgrown shrubs were removed from the <br />front yard with COA # 2001-0608-2.
