Sunnyside with Laurie LaDow of Cressy and Everette concerning the slate roof. Provided
her with links and standards.
13 November Phone call from Kathy Vetter at 1716 E. Wayne street. House broken into.
Steve and I went to see the house and made recommendations for securing the rear entry
and replacing the wood framing of the front window. Recommended a security system, but
she said "it's not me" and that she install security storm doors over the French patio doors
rather than replace them with a large window. Tracking down information from Code for
the property manager at 417 W. Navarre. Presentation at Forever Learning for 28 adults
on the Local Historic Districts.
14 November Steve and I photographed 501 Riverside Drive for the COA for the
December meeting. None of the windows are original to the house. Went to Central
Services to make an appointment for the HPC car to be covered from funds in the 2013
budget. Stopped by Tippecanoe to see where the 19 November presentation on South
Bend's Theatres and Opera Houses is to be held and made arrangements to come at 11:00
to set up.
15 November Met with Larry Schohl concerning his COA for windows at 501 Riverside.
Continued to work on Invoice for City Stipend and to request additional funding since
1000 houses in 1000 days is eating up budget for the Preservation Specialist. HPC will be
requesting additional funding from the City.
3
