Latest Code hearing listing for 21 March has Steve at Mag Mile's properties on Portage <br />listed for a demo hearing. Contacted Steve to advise him via e-mail. Resolved that as well <br />by mid afternoon. Composed letter to new Director of Code, Shubhada Kambli, to <br />introduce myself and the Office and the work of the Commission; and to set up a luncheon <br />meeting. Reviewed Steve Szaday's April First Friday mini tour of the downtown churches. <br />5 March Resolved demolition issues at 607 Leland and corrected it to the house next <br />door at 611. Sent a -mails to Scott Ford, Chris Fielding and Kathryn Roos that HPC is to <br />be included in the 1000 houses in 1000 days. Approved 19 106 Reviews for rehabilitation. <br />Gave Interns, Grace and Amanda, NICH tour of their Sweets Exhibit and then showed <br />them where these places were located in downtown. <br />6 March General Office work. Rudy Ortiz from River Ave in Edgewater Place came <br />in and expressed an interest in purchasing 1402-1404 LWT and wanted to know if it was in <br />a district. It's in LWE LHD and in rough shape. The original house has been added onto <br />and is covered in Insul Brick. Advised him since he wasn't the owner the Commission <br />could not entertain a COA application for exterior changes. He decided against the <br />purchase. Inquiry about a buried fuel tank in E. Wayne. Sent the homeowner the Building <br />Department's listing of bonded Excavation Contractors. 5:00 BSSB meeting for fund <br />raising event. <br />7 March Received the 50 demo candidates from Code. Only 3 of the 47 have had <br />Environmental Reviews. Check 2011 and 2012 106s against listing. Reviewed Contract <br />with City and contacted Larry Meteiver with questions about the Affidavit—who signs? <br />8 March Continued the past 106 Reviews with the 50 demo listing. Notified Code <br />that we had seen only three in 2012 and 2011 on that list and that three were in St. <br />Casimir's N.R. District. Deb at Code said she had not seen any Enivornmental Check <br />Lists from Community Investment since Judy Roscheck left. Called Lory Timmer in CI to <br />alert her; faxed her the listing. Pam Myers called back to thank HPC for the alert and they <br />will see if any of these demos are going to use federal or state funding so they can be <br />reviewed and federal or state funding secured. Plotted the "Legends of Notre Dame" tour <br />and the N.D. Brick Houses on the map. Still need to look at these homes to make sure <br />they are presentable. <br />9 March Attended NNN meeting at Charles Martin Center between 10:00 and noon. <br />Met with Rose from Indiana Association for Community Economic Development and <br />referred to our work in neighborhoods with workshops and seminars for homeowners who <br />want to learn how to maintain their homes. Alphabetized all of the demos from 2011 and <br />2012 to make sure that nothing would fall through the cracks again. <br />11 March Followed up with Scott about Logo. Followed up with Larry on City <br />Contract. Met with Lory Timmer and she brought 17 106 Reviews from that list of 50 that <br />were being funded with federal money and needed to have the reviews. Contacted by Greg Kil about the possible use of the <br />greenhouse at the former Michelangelo's site on Edison at the Conservatories; Greg also <br />2 <br />
