4 IF, General Office work and reorganization of the Marquette School file. Met <br />with Kevin Buccellato about the strategic plan for the Commission going forward and what <br />should and could be emphasized. <br />5 February Contacted Scott Ford at his Office. DCI is in negations with Chris of <br />Bridge Academy in Benton Harbor to set up a deconstruction and warehouse program to <br />restore older homes. No other details were forthcoming as Chris had not given notice to <br />Bridges but had accepted a position in South Bend. Met with Tom Anderson of Public <br />Works and the NNN about the role of NNN its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, etc. <br />Attended the 3 Degrees of Separation 6:00 meeting at the Music Village at the invitation of <br />Andrew Elegante. Spoke with Jim Bloom and he estimated that it would cost <br />between$1,200-1,500.00 to move the Burr Oak. He also wanted to discuss this and other <br />issues with Brent Thompson. <br />6 February Gave the three Micro entrepreneurial students an informal tour of the <br />Local Districts. It took about an hour and a half and they were impressed with what was in <br />South Bend. Networked Andrew Elegante into the South Bend Rotary for the luncheon <br />meeting. General Office work and checking into additional information for Kurt Garner <br />on Sons Of Israel NR nomination. <br />7 February Attended Lucian's class at his invitation with Steve on the Decline and <br />Renaissance of South Bend at his request since William Guy was the guest lecturer. <br />Encouraged the students to contact the office for information, research and tours. Phone <br />call from Jerry Kline about his homeowners insurance dropping his coverage because of <br />some remodeling misunderstanding. The Erie company would not even consider their <br />home because it was in a district and on the national register. Recommended Farm <br />Bureau and Chubb. This is the second time in three months that we have had insurance <br />issues. Also suggested that he contact Todd Zeiger. Researched the information for Kurt <br />West Garner and sent him the e-mail. <br />8 February Spent the morning with Ann Montgomery providing her with information <br />about the North Triangle and specifically Marquette Avenue. Since this was a proposed <br />district there was more research in the files. She was very interested in the resources of the <br />Office. General Office work and payroll. Began research on the Round Barn <br />landmarking at 69490 Juniper. <br />11 February Northern Indiana Center for History Finance Committee Meeting. <br />Contacted by Professor Karen Richman, Director of Academic Programs in the Institute <br />for Latino Studies at Notre Dame about supplementing her tour of Mexican South Bend <br />in the old Polish and Hungarian neighborhood around Studebaker and Singer factories. I <br />was recommended by Gil Cardenas. Researched information for Professor Richman and <br />returned her call. <br />12 February Routine Office Work and Research. Owner Consent letter for <br />landmarking and Group B Standards sent to Rebecca Rousch for the round barn and farm <br />house. Also included a request for family information. <br />2 <br />
