13 February Updated Karen Richman on the track that I am following for her fall tour. Sent Marcia Qualls some additional suggestions for the Urban Adventure in June. Worked with Alison Stankrauff and Elicia to resolve some lingering PALsjc issues. Followed up with Scott Ford on the impending announcement of Chris Fielding. 14 February Followed upon an e-mail from Ed Talley about the proposed changes to the Riverside/California intersection. Reassured him that this was a very preliminary, fact finding mission and funding has not been approved. Meeting with Notre Dame's Micro Venture Group on their thoughts for an expanded tour. Requested 10 maps for that project from Visit South BeND Mishawaka. 15 February Met with John Fyrqvist of 510 S. St. Joseph Street concerning COAs for future work and also his group's vision for Taylor's Field. There seems to be a number of young families that have an interest in revitalizing that area that are connected with the Catholic Worker Program and are currently living in Taylor's Field. Met with Scott Sneff about the HPC icon for the tax system and he said that it should be completed shortly. 18 February PRE,ESIDENTS' DAY OFFICE CLOSED 19 February Met with representative from Ortiz Construction about driveway work proposed at 528 River. Completed the HPC Office's 2012 Accomplishments for the County Commissioners due on 27 February and e-mailed the pdf file. Completed two 106 Reviews. Canvassed Commissioners for after meeting get together. Arranged for Gayan Hettipola, Notre Dame Architecture Student, to review our files on the Oliver Hotel on Thursday. General Office work. 20 February Elicia and I met with Ming and Luke from the ND Micro Venture Consulting Class in the Mendoza School of Business, Notre Dame with Sue Solmos from Community Investment to discuss our tour proposals. I suggested an additional tour be created that would highlight Notre Dame in the City of South Bend—such as where the various coaches and athletic director's lived and houses and buildings made from Notre Dame Brick—like St. Patrick's. Met with Marcia Qualls in the Engineering Department about their draft proposal/concept for reconfiguring the intersection at Riverside and California that Ed Talley was in an up -roar about. Spoke with Larry Garratoni, Founder of South Bend Career Academy and Mike Parsons about starting a Preservation Trades program; they seemed very interested in the concept for next fall. Will make arrangements for Staff to tour facility. 21 February General Office work and research on the N.D. foot ball and basketball coaches. Posted Strategic Planning Committee notice and e-mailed Erica Warren at the Tribune. She called to verify receipt. 22 February Payroll and General Office work. Research at NICH Archives in City Directories for ND coaches addresses as possible tour candidates. 3
