7:00 - 9:00 Recital Hall at Century Center Laurie Volk's Report on Downtown living arrangements. There is a waiting list so an additional tour will be scheduled for 10:00 on 30August. 31 July Fees turned in. All Landmarks (with a few exceptions) and Districts now on tax system. Began research on south Bend Theatres and Opera Houses. 1 August Meeting with Rink on Post Card pricing points. Attended and participated in Henry Davis' meeting on Vacant and Abandoned Housing Task Force. 2 August Meeting with Staff and Brandon Anderson at the Worker's House Exhibit to review proposed scope of work for support letter for NICH TIF funding for the repairs. Research on Opera Houses and Theatres. 5 August COA deadline. Mad Dash to complete RME COA for 614 Sherman. The Gilkies won the WNDU contest for the landscaping work. Wrote support letter for NICH. Began power point construction. and more research on Opera Houses and Theatres for the 1:30 Lecture on Wednesday. 6 August Refined power point with Elicia. Wrote up notes for the Lecture until 8:30. 7 August General Office work. Presented Historic Insights on South Bend Theatres and Opera Houses to over 130 people at NICH. The highlights were Oliver and Auditorium Operal Houses; Blackstone /State; Strand /Avon; Palace /Morris; Granda and Colfax Theatres. 8 August Prepared Staff Reports. Reconciled Location Reports with Office records. 9 August Prepared Commissioner Packets for mailing. Mailed homeowners copies. Worked with Lory Timmer, Pam Meyers and Brain Haygood about the landmark on LWW 1631 slated for demo to get it off the list. Have 15 others that could be salvaged that we haven't turned in, some of which are on tax sale, too. Trying to discover how that works. Contacted CDI about HPC stipend from City. Onsite visit to 614 Sherman for APC hearing for alley vacation. 12 August Met with Connie Tooley concerning apartment building and the conditions in the proposed West LaSalle National Register District. Participated Northern Indiana Center for History Finance Committee meeting. Researched alley information for 614 Sherman and on site visit. 13 August Attended Board of Public Works hearing with Mr. and Mrs. Gilkie homeowners of 614 Sherman and obtained the approval for the paperwork for the cross access easement so that they can vacate the alleyway.
