24 October Prepared for presentation to Realtors. End of year budget work. Contacted
Center township trustee on Rohrer Cemetery on Ireland Road that is in sad shape.
Contacted Jackie Beals at Custom Awning about the proposed canopy for Tippecanoe
Place requesting information on installation and whether Indiana Landmarks had been
contacted since they hold the facade easement on the mansion.
25 October Presentation at Realtors' Class on HPC -who we are and what we do. Spoke
with Mr. Pietrzak in Edgewater about his tree issue. Reflected Brent Thompson's position
that he needed a copy of the survey, the tree is an American Elm and just needs to have the
crown trimmed -not taken down. The survey will be faxed to me.
30 October On site 106 Reviews for Bond Hall and Hurley Hall, Notre Dame for the
installation of Communication devices. Declined to be a consulting party.
31 October On site meeting with Sheila McCarthy and Staff at 519 S. St. Joseph to work
with her on the COA application to remove the rear addition to the house. Photographed
the condition of the interior and exterior of the house. The addition is falling apart and
unsafe to enter. The house is deteriorating because the previous owner of 27 years, John
Roxy, did not repair the roof and consequently all the floors and ceilings have water
damage. The damage is further compounded by the massive amounts of belongings in
cardboard boxes (Hoarding) that he refuses to remove—the weight of which is increasing
the amount of damage. Continued to meet with Sheila at the Office and accepted her
COA application for the work that she proposed.
1 November Prepared reports, worked with Auditor's Office on the Historic Districts
Tour funding. Submitted payroll.
2 November Staff meeting on the Preservation Trades Program. Attended Ribbon
Cutting for the DTSB "Pop -Up" shops. Worked on Staff Report for North Liberty
National Register Nomination for 19 November public hearing. Completed 3 106 Reviews.
5 November COA deadline. Staff report on 605 Edgewater. Meeting with Sue Solmos
on North Liberty National Register Nomination for additional information for Staff
Report. She will have a letter of support e-mailed or sent to Office.
6 November OFFICE CLOSED FOR ELECTION DAY
7 November Met with Staff on 605 Edgewater Staff Report. Responded to messages left
on 6 November Reconciled Location Report against Office Accounts. Estimated extra
funds for year end uses, solicited input from Staff as well.
