information and tax information for 759 -763 LMT Owner is walking away from property <br />because of "high taxes " — actually the taxes are under $1000.00 annually. <br />27 July Spoke with Matt Sikora in the Mayor's Office about the Avon. Informed <br />him that the Library Board had voted down Don's proposal to mothball the facade's terra <br />cotta and that HPC was proceeding with landmarking. HPC could have a Special Meeting <br />before the 20 August one for a public hearing. Also told him that HPC has not had any <br />Communication from DTSB or Kathryn Roos on the subject. Reviewed the National <br />Register Nomination for North Liberty (2 hours). <br />30 July Attended Ribbon cutting for Studebakers' Drivers Club kick off. Spoke <br />with Mark Tamer about creating a confection for the Lincoln Highway Centennial in 2013. <br />Spoke with Debbie Berry of the E. Wayne Street District about her concerns that Kramer <br />Properties LLC purchased 1615 E. Wayne. Kramer usually rents to students. Sent him a <br />letter notifying him of the COA process along with Standards book and SF1 zoning. Began <br />researching owners for the North Liberty National Register letters. Could not access on- <br />line information via web site. Sue Solmos said that she would provide that. (1.5 hours) <br />31 July Turned in fees for July and Steve's time sheet. Attended SJC Health Fair. <br />2013 Budget meeting. Bob Kovach wants Office hours spent on work in County tracked. <br />Compiled numbers of designated properties in the city (867) and county (74) and emailed <br />to Pete Mullins, Auditor and Bob. HPC will also compile an inventory of vacant landmarks <br />in the City for Pete. Asked for additional 400.00 for gas line item in 2013 budget bringing <br />that up to $1,200.00 otherwise everything else remains the same. Research time, cmails to <br />Bob and Pete, staff meeting and e -mails concerning these requests took approximately 1 <br />hour.) Brainstorming Nvith Elicia and Michelle on St. Joseph County Post Card Project <br />1 August Responded to Heather Guzman of Holy Cross Village about a special Then <br />and Now tour for the fall. Reviewed the 2012 Contract with the City and brought signed <br />copies back to Pam Myer. This will include 2 check one for the usual $25,000.00 for HPC <br />work for the City and $2,000.00 for the Historic Districts Tour. Checked into grant <br />funding for Brick Streets for Mike Mecham, the new City Engineer. Steve Kennedy <br />responded that the Historic Preservation Funding grants doesn't rank brick street or street <br />lights as a priority. Received link to tax credits from David Duvall: <br />httn: //NN'i "vnns.gov /tns /education /free- nubs.htm . <br />2 August Issued a RME_COA for roof at 215 Hammond since it was a three tab <br />asphalt and not a Sherif Goslin as Heidi stated yesterday. Notified her and her father that <br />they could proceed and the COA was in the building department The Lincoln Highway <br />meeting was cancelled at the SJCPL. Attended ribbon cutting at the Music Village in the <br />JMS Building. Attended Code hearing for 620 Carroll and met Michael Auriemma <br />afterwards. He has 120 days to get the house up to Code. Made sure he understood that <br />vinyl windows were not an option unless the windows were deteriorated beyond repair. <br />Sent him the link to our web page for the guidelines and other information. 213 E.
