Assistant Director's Report HPC Meetina 04.16.2012 1. Local Landmarks - a. Central High Apartments- Meeting with John Hendershot regarding a proposed sign and — taking photographs. Accepting COA application. b. 1922 Portage Avenue - Attend Common Council meeting with Catherine to recommend Landmarking. c. Michigan Street Bridge- Review letter sent to INDOT by Brendan Crumlish, Architect. 2. Local Historic Districts - a. East Wayne Street -With Catherine, photograph 1323 EWS for Staff Report b. Taylor's Field -With Catherine, photograph XX South Street and investigate demolition 3. Staff Reports -none 4. Routine Maintenance Exclusions -none 5. National Register of Historic Places- Updates conversations. Correspondence with Kurt Garner regarding a nomination for St. Patrick's Park that he is working on and will submitting to HPC in the near future. 6. Attend 03.19.2012 HPC meeting, prepare draft of minutes and forward to Commissioners. Revise as requested. Print minutes from March meeting for April meeting. Print commissioner and liaison mailing labels. 7. Restore Michiana Series 2010 -2011 Window Restoration Production -none M. Restore Michiana Series 2012 - Updating calendar on www.RestoreMichiana.com. Marketing House mbetectives and House 'Styles. Correspondence with Marcie of the Mishawaka library regarding PR and marketing efforts. Prepare PR with flyer and email out. 9. Internships- Oversee and offer guidance for the following projects: a. Hannah, Resource Center - b. Olga, City Cemetery NRN- c. Meredith, Resource Center, Southhold Preservation Awards planning- Instruct Meredith on Certificates development. d. Michi, Resource Center, DTSB Scavenger Hunt - Working with Michi on,the hunt. 10. Historic Preservation Education Grant - Partnering with South Bend Heritage Foundation to offer a contractor training at the Rushton, a Local Landmark. Correspondence with Jessica Kitchens. Review grant application and budget. Prepare Letter of Support and resume. 11. Redevelopment Commission - Review agendas. Attend 3.27 meeting related to Union Station properties and Rushton. 12. Studebaker /Bendix Heritage Trail- Attend meeting to discuss goals for spending the' CVB grant. Working meeting to prepare directional signage route. Prepare directional signage infofmation for City of South Bend Board of Public Works. 13. City Cemetery records digitizing project- Recruiting volunteers. The scanner has arrived! 'i
