Assistant Director's Report HPC Meetina 09.19.2011 <br />1. National Register Nomination - <br />a. City Cemetery -Reviewing what loose ends need -to be tied up with the nomination. <br />b. Marquette School -Working with P.I.P. contractor Kurt Garner to go through file and make <br />copies of relevant information to his research (1). Review nomination submitted by Kurt on 9.9.11. <br />Printing off pictures from submittal. Correspondence with Chair Klusczinski regarding photos and <br />forwarding nomination. Forwarding suggested changes to Kurt. <br />c. Haven Hubbard Home -Review Staff Report by Catherine <br />d. Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue -Correspondence with Bill Shalliol of City regarding <br />photographing the interior. Correspondence with Kurt. <br />2. Attend 08.15.2011 HPC meeting, prepare draft of minutes and forward to Commissioners. Revise <br />as requested. Print minutes from August meeting for September meeting. Print commissioner and <br />liaison mailing labels. <br />3. Internships -Finalize job descriptions for fall 2011 internships. Email out to appropriate listservs. <br />Working on unifying the format of the different interns spreadsheets and converting them to become <br />"finding aids" or searchable catalogues. Meeting with Rachel Mezzei to discuss her skills and set a <br />job. Meeting with Katlynn West to discuss her skills and set a job. Labeling files. Scheduling a field trip <br />for the interns to SB Chocolate factory and Center for History to see how they organize and label <br />artifacts. <br />a. Resource Library Books -Working with Mary Lou to finalize the categories. Introducing <br />Rachel to the project. Working with Rachel with the spreadsheet and labeling. <br />b. Resource Library Flat Files -Working with the Catalogue. <br />c. Local Landmarks -Working on the spreadsheets to match the physical files in the drawers. <br />Meeting with John Carlson at the HPC Office. John set up the mapping program that the Building <br />Department has on our systems ... YAH! <br />d. Preservation Specialist -Continue organizing office, including messy hallway. Working with <br />Steve to move furniture and files. <br />e. Research Assistant -Working with Katlynn to begin delving into the Files by Subject cabinet. <br />Interested in the Industrial Buildings files, she will be helping to gather and compile histories for the <br />Studebaker/Bendix tour. Going over artifacts and our need to have silhouettes/outlines of each <br />artifact for display/informational purposes. <br />4. RMS 2010-2011 Window Restoration Production -Finalizing SCRIPT. Working with Wayne on the final <br />SCRIPT. In the studio for the voice recording session. Making final changes to the SCRIPT based on <br />the recording session changes. Correspondence with Andy Bell, the contracted editor who will be <br />working on the production. Correspondence with Todd about wrapping up WNITs part. <br />Correspondence with Andrea about unifying the two productions. <br />5. Restore Michiana Series 2011- <br />a. Updating www.RestoreMichiana.com website. <br />b. House Detectives -Correspondence with Todd Zeiger and Cliff Zenor on planning. Begin <br />developing the PR. Meeting with Todd and Cliff to discuss marketing and logistics. Updating the PR <br />and rack card flyers, mailing proof to TZ and CZ for approval. Printing rack card size flyers for <br />distribution. <br />6. Staff Reports - <br />a. 818 Leland fence <br />7. Routine Maintenance Exclusions- <br />
