Then & Now: A Downtown South Bend Architecture Walking Tour -Continue to promote the tours. <br />Walking the tour route with Todd Zeiger in preparation for giving the -tour for the first time. Preparing <br />tour notes and studying for the tour. Presenting the guided tour to 60 participants. Revising notes in <br />preparation for next offering. Following up with Julie at DTSB regarding a microphone issue and <br />following up with Guitar Center to correct the problem. Attending Catherine's private architecture <br />tour for a Notre Dame Architecture class. Research for who designed the First Source Centre, <br />concluded Helmut Jahn, still practicing architecture. Correspondence with Todd, Julie, and <br />Catherine regarding adding more guided tours and training docents. Meeting with Todd, Julie, and <br />Catherine to brainstorm on docent and fundraising thoughts. Setting more calendar dates for <br />guided tours alternating with Todd, Catherine, and myself. <br />9. Studebaker/Bendix Heritage Trail -Correspondence with Team: Content, Andy Beckman and Todd <br />Zeiger about our task. Correspondence with Evie Kirkwood about an interpretive panel at City <br />Cemetery Studebaker mausoleum site. Working with Andy Beckman on our team homework for the <br />interpretive panels and QR codes. Meeting at Studebaker. Gathering and assembling content for <br />the marketing pieces. <br />10. Attend Young Professionals Network of the Chamber for a luncheon topic of FUNdraising <br />presented by the Center for the Homeless. <br />11. Local Landmarks -Identify a few potential Local Landmarks and prepare letters. Talk with Chad <br />—Sult, owner of 800 Van Buren in Walkerton about the LL procedure. Photograph property and deliver <br />—Local Landmarking paperwork to Chad. <br />a. 317 W Washington, Central High Apartments RME#2011-0331-Provide Accurate Construction <br />with the field observation report. Forward report to Zach Heine, Amereco and John Hendershoot, <br />Central Manager. Phone call with John regarding the sw 2nd storey window lintel damage. <br />b. 302 W Washington, former First Presbyterian Church -Somebody is living in the entry vestibule. <br />12. Best Places to Buy an Old House -Meet with Sue Solmos to make some progress on the <br />nomination. Tour the n'hood with Sue to finish taking photos and capturing addresses. Working with <br />Sue on the nomination. Submit nomination via email and USPS mail. <br />13. Attend Downtown South Bend, Inc. First Fridays Buzz Session at Club LaSalle with about 50 other <br />community members to brainstorm on ways to make First Fridays better. <br />14. Safetyville in Rum Village Park -Correspondence with Kelly Jones regarding how HPC can help <br />preserve Safetyville. <br />15. Forwarding slides scans of Council Oak to Lori Horvath at Riverview Cemetery. <br />16. Talking with a Chapin Park owner about window replacement. <br />17. 1425 E. Wayne Street -Confusion over a roof COA. Working through the details. <br />18. City Cemetery records digitizing project -HPC has been approached by Steve Nemeth of the <br />arks Department to assist with digitizing the records. Correspondence with Michael Kouroubetes of <br />City Parks. Making phone calls to other communities who have completed this type of project. <br />2 <br />
