for Commercial Property demolition. Notified Code about holes in gable returns at 805 <br />Leland. Met witli Andrew Schnabel, President of BSSB between 5:00 and 7:30 to prepare <br />Form 990 for the May 15 deadline. <br />27 April Contacted Jeff Dierbeck about his proposal for a slate roof replacement at <br />1615 E. Wayne Street; notified him that Staff need more specific information on the <br />proposed replacement materials. Created a Preservation Specialist Intern job description <br />and e-mailed information to Steve Szaday. Completed fourteen 106 Reviews for City <br />demolition. Attended Rotary International District Dinner (6:30-9:30) and emailed report <br />to Rotary Office for Bulletin. <br />28 April Met with Jeremy Roschyk of DLZ on another proposed location for the lift <br />station. This station will be about 8 feet in diameter and the new proposed location was in <br />the vicinity of the entrance to the Garden of Fragrance created in 1955 by the Garden Club <br />for the enjoyment of the Blind. This lift station could work there if the wrought iron <br />entrance to the Garden was restored and then the path reconfigured as a curvilinear to <br />meet up with the old path and replanted with fragrant bushes and flowers. The lift station <br />would be screened as well. Met with John Wiltrout and Paul Schmidt of'JC Lauber for an <br />on site inspection of die North Pumping Station Roof and South Cupola copper and <br />copper drainage area. Paul made some illustrations and suggestions on how to combat laic <br />ice dam issues and drainage by either removing the copper and /or covering the copper <br />drainage area with a rubber membrane; securing the rubber membrane under the neck of <br />the cupola and the adding new copper pieces to secure the seams. Staff also photographed <br />the chimney that needs to be re -built and new damage to the southwest roof terra cotta <br />tiles. Met with Tina Assimos and worked with her on her COA for landmark 557 <br />Edgewater. Spoke witli Jennifer Born about information needed for appointment to <br />Commission. She will have info to Office by May 6. <br />29 April Followed up on inquiry from Wednesday evening about cost of Residential <br />demolitions for City Council Candidate Cavanaugh ($3,000-$5,700 to $10,000.00). <br />Followed up on inquiry from Randy Ray on 803 W. Washington's acquisition by City; <br />faxed information. Responded to phone inquiry about fence at 1043 Riverside needing a <br />COA. Completed 12 106 Reviews for Grants. Completed paperwork and submitted COA <br />fees for the month. Meeting with CJ Cunningham at Troyer Group in Mishawaka for COA <br />submission for work proposed at the Snyder Farm for Granger Paths. <br />2 May COA application deadline for May meeting. Received 5 COA applications <br />throughout the day, bringing die total to 9. Began organizing materials for Staff Reports. <br />Processed the paperwork for Steve Szaday to be die Intern working with Wayne Doolittle <br />for IUSB credits beginning 16 May through the 31 December. Met with Scott Chase on <br />1130 E. Wayne COA application. <br />3 May OFFICE CLOSED FOR PRIMARY <br />4 May Staff Reports. Contacted Julie Ducom in California, homeowner of' 1615 E. <br />Wayne concerning Jeff Dierbeck's application on her behalf for the replacement of the <br />slate roof. Sent Mr. and Mrs. Matt link to COA for the re -roof of 1619 E. Wayne. On site <br />2 <br />
