1 February On site tour of the "Lang Lab" at 1302 High Street given by Dave Hurley <br />with Elicia Feasel, Wayne Doolittle and Todd Zeiger. Discussed various strategies and <br />funding sources for the 1898 brick and wood factory. Exterior is yellow brick the interior <br />has wood floors with 10" solid posts supporting 8-10" solid beams on cast iron capitals. <br />Structure has 300 windows that are mostly boarded up. Continued sorting through and <br />discarding booklets in HPC Library. Emailed Mike Wheeler and Barbara Black Fredman <br />of Granger Paths about my concerns of the landmarked 13271 Adams Road before the <br />meeting was postponed due to the weather/blizzard. <br />2 February Snow Day <br />3 February Spoke with Marcia Kokot again about her door; advised her not to purchase <br />the door she submitted with the application because I didn't think that the Commission <br />would approve it. Wayne.spoke to her as well, said he would go to the location and <br />measure the door and advised her to have the original wood door repaired and the proper <br />hardware installed and then purchase a good storm door -Larsen. Spoke with Laura Moran <br />and Scott Peacock about the house at 609 Riverside Drive; obtained tax information for <br />them and discussed the condition of the house with Scott. Advised him that vinyl siding <br />and windows would probably not be approved by the Commission unless it was to only <br />feasible alternative -the current aluminum siding is pulling away from the body of the <br />house. Ezra from Opera LaSalle came by for the information that we had on an alternative <br />use for the State Theatre performed in 1989. The State is up for auction between February <br />7.10 with bids starting at $125,000.00. Stephanie Kopczynski came by to complete the <br />inventory. <br />4 February Worked on 2010 106 Reviews filing with pulled survey cards on <br />demolished structures. Culling through the printed materials on redevelopment in the <br />Office Conference Room. <br />7 February Continued work in Conference Room. Took the afternoon as a sick day. <br />8 February Meetings with Chuck Bulot on the proposed handrails for Gate House at <br />Riverview Cemetery so that they meet South Bend's Code. Handrails will not be attached <br />to the building because they are only required to go up the sides of the new concrete steps <br />located in the rear of the structure. Responded to Tom Doyle of Big C Lumber to arrange <br />a presentation at the next HPC meeting on an interior storm window. Researched <br />ownership of Campus Apartments in East Washington National Register District. After <br />hours networking with Green Drinks; asked to coordinate next month's at the <br />Conservatories. <br />9 February Accessed the tax system and pulled up all of the properties owned Campus <br />Apartments DBA Gross & Cohen Notre Dame LLC and Notre Dame Il LLC. It owns at <br />least 19 properties (listed in the tax system) of the 80 structures in the E. Washington <br />
